My core beliefs

What I stand for, what i believe...

Reduce wasteful spending

I committed to reducing wasteful spending by challenging the current budget allocation system dominated by city hall insiders, which often prioritizes program incentives over efficiency and effectiveness. This "use it or lose it" mentality shifts the focus from ensuring funds are spent wisely to merely spending them. By prioritizing the direct benefits to all Edmontonians, we aim to ensure public money is used in the most effective manner possible.

Taxpayer Concerns

In response to Edmonton's financial challenges, I plan to implement an expansionary fiscal policy to revitalize the city's economy. By increasing government spending on key infrastructure projects, hiring public sector workers, and providing subsidies to businesses, we aim to stimulate aggregate demand, create jobs, and boost income. Additionally, tax cuts will incentivize private investment, innovation, and entrepreneurship, creating a multiplier effect where each dollar spent or saved generates more income and spending, ultimately leading to a more efficient and robust economy in Edmonton.

Homelessness & Mental Health

Homelessness is a complex issue that requires immediate action and political will to address effectively. Despite significant funding, the problem persists due to a lack of coordination, prevention, and affordable housing. I am committed to cutting homelessness in half within two years by providing transitional housing, comprehensive social services, and sobriety support programs, while advocating for performance-based funding. We must tackle mental health, drug addiction, domestic violence, and income inequality to create real change. It's time to shift resources from bureaucracy to building affordable homes and providing essential support for the unhoused.

Elect Malik brings accountability and tough management to Edmonton, ensuring leaders deliver on their promises.
